The Clark County Health Department would like to thank the community for their assistance reporting EMS concerns or just as importantly the positive feedback as well.  If you are not aware there are links on both the CCHD and 911 websites to report issues.  This is a simple JotForm which allows CCHD to investigate concerns or congratulate exemplary responses within the county.

We have been working with our partners at the county 911 operations center to harvest quality data regarding EMS response times, time on scene, time to react to call, and hospital hold times.  Previous reporting was done by zipcode which had utility but with the efforts of leadership at 911 we are changing reporting going forward to reflect fire territory or district. 

The rationale for this change was to determine a more finite representation of what was happening in each fire area.  For instance, several calls that would be in the New Washington Fire District have a Charlestown zipcode. Basically, runs being logged in the New Washington District were lumped into Charlestown reporting due to a large swath of the New Washington District having Charlestown zipcodes. 

CCHD believes this change would provide more accurate data reference to report EMS times communitywide.  Consequently, this provides the department and our partners with the necessary information to make changes to staging, ambulance availability throughout the day, and to work with our hospital partners to ensure units are released back into service as quickly as possible.

Our community responders are constantly evaluating opportunities for improvement; this new data format will help our agencies understand better our current and ongoing needs.
