Septic System Installer Exam

To become a septic system installer in Clark County, you must complete the application and exam. The exam emphasizes the standard requirements for installing septic systems. Most of the answers for the exam can be found in the 410 IAC 6-8.1 from the Indiana State Department of Health. If you cannot find the correct answer in that publication, use any source available to you to answer the questions. To obtain a permit, you must answer 13 of 15 questions correctly.  If you are unable to complete this requirement, your company must set up an appointment with one of the staff and review the test to obtain the correct answers.

Once you have completed the review to the health departments satisfaction, we will process your application and issue your permit.

In reviewing the application, this office must receive:

  • A completed application

  • A $50.00 fee (Make check payable to Clark County Health Department)

  • A satisfactory test score or a review of the test questions at the Clark County Health Department

  • Successfully passing the IOWPA exam for the year of 2006 will also meet the exam requirements of Clark County
