Food Handler Certification

As of January 1st, 2005, the State of Indiana requires that at least one person in each food establishment, who oversees food safety operations, be a "certified food handler" unless exempted by 410 IAC 7-22.   A food service establishment must pass an exam that meets the standards established by the Conference for Food Protection.

 

Food Handler Certification Examination and Training Program Providers

A list of training and testing facilities is available.  Certification programs are available at operators cost.  There are courses that are offered as home-study, online courses, as well as on-site training.
